Welcome Meetings – Autumn 2024

Welcome Meetings – 11th September 2024

The partnership between home and school is hugely important in ensuring pupils’ effective learning and success at Emmbrook Junior School, and to this end, we invite all parents to our Welcome Meetings on the 11th of September 2024. This will provide an opportunity to find out about the key areas of learning for the coming academic year.

Each Year group will run a Welcome Meeting, which will include information about the planned learning.

You will find the majority of the information you need in the Key Information Document which is available on our website for download. Please refer to this document regarding any queries you may have regarding day to day issues.

The Welcome Meetings will run from 3:30pm to 4:00pm in one of the classrooms in each Year Group, which will also give you an opportunity to see where your children will be learning and meet your child’s teacher. The Welcome Meetings are an opportunity for you to find out what your children will be learning and how you can support them during the year. These meetings are for parents & carers therefore we ask that children do not attend.

Each year group will give a presentation linked to the curriculum coverage for the coming academic year including what texts they are planning to share, opportunities for enhancing the learning through trips and visits etc. This is one of the ways we keep you informed about what your children are learning throughout the year. The presentation will be made available on the school website for your reference; for those of you with children in multiple year groups, who were only able to attend one meeting or for those that are unable to attend.

Each year we also publish curriculum maps that tell you what your child will be learning and what activities they will be involved in during the year, which can also be downloaded from our website. The new curriculum maps for 2024-2025 will be added ready for the start of next term.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs A Jones
